About this item

The SparkFun OpenLog Artemis (DEV-16832) is a powerful and versatile data logger designed to simplify recording serial data from microcontrollers and sensors. Built around the Ambiq Apollo3 Blue microcontroller, this compact device offers low power consumption with high processing capability, making it perfect for long-term logging applications and battery-powered projects. OpenLog Artemis acts as a “black box” that listens to serial data and logs it directly to a microSD card without the need for constant interaction from a host microcontroller. It supports baud rates up to 115,200 bps and can log vast amounts of data in plain text format, which is easy to analyze later. The board comes with a built-in real-time clock (RTC) to timestamp logs accurately. Thanks to its small size and simple serial interface, it’s widely used in projects like environmental monitoring, GPS data logging, robotics debugging, and IoT devices. Programming flexibility is a key feature, with support for Arduino and CircuitPython, allowing users to customize logging behavior or extend functionality. The OpenLog Artemis also includes onboard LEDs for status indication and a reset button for easy control.
