The SparkFun SEN-12642 Sound Detector is a compact and versatile audio sensing module designed to detect ambient sound and audio activity in a wide range of applications. These outputs allow users to detect the presence of sound, analyze its intensity, and access raw audio signals simultaneously. The envelope output delivers an analog signal proportional to the volume of incoming sound, making it useful for audio level monitoring or visualization. The gate output provides a digital high/low signal when sound exceeds a set threshold—ideal for triggering events.
