The SparkFun WRL-13711 ESP8266 Thing Development Board is a compact and versatile Wi-Fi-enabled microcontroller board based on the popular ESP8266 Wi-Fi SoC. Designed for IoT and wireless applications, this development board offers an easy-to-use platform for developers, hobbyists, and makers to connect devices to the internet quickly and efficiently. The ESP8266 Thing features the ESP8266 chip, which integrates a 32-bit Tensilica processor with built-in Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), allowing it to handle networking tasks alongside application code. The board includes USB-to-serial circuitry for seamless programming and communication with your computer via the Arduino IDE or other development environments. With support for 3.3V logic and a variety of GPIO pins, the ESP8266 Thing can interface with sensors, actuators, displays, and other peripherals, making it ideal for projects such as home automation, sensor monitoring, remote control, and data logging. The board’s compact size and integrated LiPo battery charging circuit also enable portable and battery-powered applications.
