The RS485 CAN HAT for Raspberry Pi is a versatile expansion board designed to enable long-distance communication for Raspberry Pi models. It features both RS485 and CAN interfaces, allowing for bidirectional communication. The RS485 interface is controlled via UART and supports half-duplex communication, while the CAN interface utilizes the MCP2515 controller via SPI. Both interfaces are equipped with onboard transceivers (SP3485 for RS485 and SIT65HVD230DR for CAN) and 120Ω terminal resistors, configurable via a DIP switch. Additionally, the board includes a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) for surge protection. It is compatible with various Raspberry Pi models and comes with development resources and manuals for easy integration.
