The SparkFun RedBot Line Follower Sensor Board (SEN-11769) is an add-on module designed to enable robots to detect lines or nearby objects. Utilizing an infrared LED and phototransistor (QRE1113GR), it measures the amount of reflected infrared light to identify transitions from light to dark surfaces or the presence of objects directly in front of it. Operating at 5V DC with a supply current of 25mA, the sensor has an optimal sensing distance of approximately 3mm. It connects to the RedBot Mainboard via a 3-pin header and includes a mounting hole for easy attachment to the robot chassis. The sensor is compatible with the RedBot Arduino library, facilitating straightforward integration into robotics projects.
