About this item

The ELECROW Crowtail‑DWM1000 UWB module is a fully integrated, precision indoor positioning system based on Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology. It includes all the necessary RF circuits, antenna, clock management, and power regulation, so users do not need to design any RF front end. Communication is done via the standard SPI interface between the DWM1000 transceiver and an STM32F103 microcontroller onboard, simplifying integration with developing boards like Arduino, STM32, etc. Its main use cases are in two‑way ranging (where two UWB nodes measure the time‑of‑flight of signals back and forth) and Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) systems (multiple anchors measuring arrival times to locate a tag). With up to 4 operating channels spanning 3.5 GHz to 6.5 GHz, the module provides high data rates (up to ~6.8 Mbps) and achieves positioning accuracy in the order of 10 cm under good conditions. Power consumption is moderate, especially for the base station setup (~165 mA) when active. The supported environmental range (temperature, etc.) allows it to be used in many indoor settings. Overall, this module is suitable for robotics, asset tracking, navigation in indoor spaces, smart buildings, and other IoT localization tasks.
