The BIGTREETECH BTT EBB36 CAN V1.2 is a compact, high-performance CAN bus toolhead expansion board designed for modern 3D printers—especially those using Klipper firmware. Built for machines like the Voron V2, Voron Trident, and other CoreXY designs, this board enables easy mounting on the printhead, simplifying wiring and reducing motion drag caused by bulky cable bundles. Powered by the STM32G0B1 microcontroller, the EBB36 supports CAN bus communication, allowing real-time data transfer and control over a single twisted-pair wire. This drastically reduces the number of wires needed between the mainboard and the toolhead. The board provides connectors for hotend heater, thermistor, part cooling fan, hotend fan, BLTouch, and filament runout sensor—all from one location near the toolhead. Version 1.2 includes reliability improvements, better thermal management, and enhanced protection features over previous versions. With its small footprint and 2-layer PCB design, the EBB36 CAN V1.2 is perfect for clean, modular, and efficient wiring in high-speed, high-precision 3D printers. Fully compatible with CANBoot and Klipper, it’s the go-to solution for users upgrading to a CAN bus ecosystem in pursuit of better performance and simplified cabling.
