About this item
The ELECROW Crowtail‑Serial WiFi module (Model CT0019SW) is a compact UART‑WiFi module based around the ESP‑12 chip, designed for IoT (Internet of Things) and mobile applications. It offers a simple way to add wireless connectivity to devices via a high‑speed serial (UART) interface, enabling data transmission, remote control, sensor networks, smart devices and more with minimal wiring. With low power consumption (leveraging ULP/ULP‑style technology), it’s suitable for battery‑powered applications. Out of the box, the module supports AT‑command firmware; after upgrading to appropriate firmware and using companion Android apps (such as IOT.APK), one can use the module to control PWM, general I/O pins, or send/receive serial data over WiFi. It supports multiple WiFi modes (station, soft‑AP, etc.), and includes integrated components like RF front‑end, power amplifier, low noise amplifier, matching networks and power management. The module operates typically at 5 V, though many internals run on 3.3 V logic. Its small footprint makes integration into Crowtail or other shields/brains straightforward, facilitating WiFi‑based projects like sensor telemetry, remote control, or serial‑to‑WiFi bridging.
