About this item
The SparkFun Qwiic Alphanumeric Display – Blue (COM-16917) is a compact and vibrant 4-character, 14-segment LED display designed for projects that require clear alphanumeric output. Unlike simpler 7-segment displays that show only numbers, this 14-segment format allows you to display letters, numbers, and select symbols, making it ideal for user interfaces, counters, timers, and status indicators. This display uses the Qwiic system, enabling quick, solderless I²C connections with other Qwiic-compatible boards and sensors. The integrated driver chip (VK16K33) manages the display and handles brightness control with 16 levels, providing crisp blue illumination that's easy to read in various lighting conditions. The board supports up to four different I²C addresses, so you can chain multiple displays on the same bus for extended text output or multi-zone indicators. With its small footprint, breadboard compatibility, and two Qwiic connectors for daisy-chaining, this display simplifies hardware design and wiring. It’s perfect for embedded systems, IoT devices, and educational projects where concise alphanumeric information is needed in a compact, stylish package. Combined with easy-to-use libraries for Arduino and other platforms, the Qwiic Alphanumeric Display – Blue offers a practical and attractive way to communicate data visually.Specifications
