The SparkFun Pro Micro – RP2040 (DEV-18288) is a compact and powerful development board that combines the familiar Pro Micro form factor with the performance of the Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller. Designed for users who need a small, breadboard-friendly board with advanced features, it’s ideal for applications like USB devices, embedded projects, and fast prototyping. At the heart of the board is the RP2040 chip, featuring a dual-core Arm Cortex-M0+ processor running at up to 133 MHz, with 264 KB of SRAM and 16 MB of external flash. The board includes a USB-C connector for power, programming, and data communication, supporting native USB device and host capabilities. It can be programmed via C/C++, MicroPython, or CircuitPython, offering flexibility for developers across skill levels. The board breaks out 21 GPIO pins, supporting digital I/O, PWM, I²C, SPI, UART, and ADC functionality. It also includes a reset button and a boot button for easier firmware uploads. The onboard Qwiic connector allows for seamless I²C device integration with no soldering. Its small size, combined with a powerful microcontroller and a wide range of I/O options, makes the SparkFun Pro Micro – RP2040 a robust and versatile platform for embedded development.
