About this item
The SparkFun SEN-11084 Altitude/Pressure Sensor Breakout is based on the MPL3115A2, a precision barometric pressure sensor with integrated altitude calculation capability. This sensor provides accurate atmospheric pressure, altitude, and temperature readings, making it ideal for weather monitoring, altitude tracking, and environmental sensing in portable or stationary applications. The MPL3115A2 uses a piezoresistive sensor element combined with a temperature sensor to deliver high-resolution pressure measurements with a range from 50 kPa to 110 kPa, suitable for near sea-level to high-altitude environments. The sensor also features a built-in temperature sensor for compensation and environmental monitoring. This breakout board supports I2C communication, compatible with 3.3V logic levels, and is easily integrated with microcontrollers like Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Its compact design includes pull-up resistors and a Qwiic connector for quick plug-and-play connection within the SparkFun Qwiic ecosystem. With its low power consumption and high accuracy, the SEN-11084 is suitable for drones, wearable devices, weather stations, and other projects requiring reliable altitude or pressure data. The onboard hardware also supports event detection and interrupt functionality, enhancing its usefulness in complex embedded systems.Specifications
