About this item

The Arducam 12MP IMX708 Autofocus Camera Module 3 Wide is a next-generation imaging solution designed for Raspberry Pi users seeking high resolution, wide-angle coverage, and smart focusing. Built around Sony’s IMX708 image sensor, this camera delivers detailed 12-megapixel stills and supports video capture with advanced HDR (High Dynamic Range) for enhanced image quality in challenging lighting conditions. Equipped with a wide-angle lens offering a 120° diagonal field of view, this module captures more scene content than standard lenses—ideal for robotics, home surveillance, smart doorbells, and AI vision applications. One of its standout features is Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), enabling fast and accurate focusing across varying distances. The autofocus is motorized and software-controllable, ensuring optimal clarity without manual adjustments. This camera is fully supported by the Raspberry Pi’s native camera software stack (libcamera and Picamera2) and connects via the standard MIPI CSI-2 interface. It comes with multiple ribbon cables to support a wide range of Pi models, including Raspberry Pi 5, 4, 3, Zero 2W, and Compute Modules. With its wide FOV, autofocus capability, and HDR support, the Arducam IMX708 Camera Module 3 Wide is perfect for modern Raspberry Pi projects requiring smart, flexible, and high-quality imaging.
