The Arducam 8 MP IMX219 Camera Module offers an excellent blend of high resolution, indigenous compatibility, and optical precision for Raspberry Pi systems. Built around the Sony IMX219 sensor, it captures awe-inspiring 8-megapixel still images at a resolution of 3280 × 2464, delivering crisp visuals and accurate color fidelity. Its built-in low-distortion M12 lens (less than 3% distortion) ensures minimal edge warping, ideal for applications where geometric accuracy matters—such as robotics, automotive ADAS, time-lapse, or surveillance. This module is fully plug-and-play with the Pi’s 15-pin CSI-2 interface, requiring no additional drivers. It supports full-HD video at 1080p @ 47fps, 720p @ 60fps, and even VGA @ 206fps, giving you smooth and flexible video performance. The compact form factor (approximately 24 × 25 mm) and low power consumption (~300 mA peak) make it perfect for embedded and mobile use.
