The Teensy 4.1 Development Board is a high-performance microcontroller platform powered by the NXP iMXRT1062 ARM Cortex-M7 processor, operating at an impressive 600 MHz. It’s an advanced version of the popular Teensy 4.0, offering enhanced features such as four times more flash memory (8MB), 1MB RAM, and added sockets for external memory expansion. Matching the size of the Teensy 3.6 (60.96mm x 17.78mm), it provides greater I/O capabilities, including an Ethernet PHY, microSD card socket, and a USB host port. Unique to the Teensy 4.1 is its ability to dynamically scale CPU speed, without disrupting timing functions, serial baud rates, or audio processing—something traditional microcontrollers struggle with. It includes a power-off control via a button on the On/Off pin and real-time clock (RTC) support with VBAT backup. It also supports hardware-based double-precision floating-point operations, a leap over many boards that only accelerate single-precision math.
