About this item

The BMP280 Barometric Pressure and Altitude Sensor I2C/SPI Module is a compact and precise environmental sensor designed for a wide range of applications, including weather forecasting, indoor and outdoor navigation, home automation, and health monitoring. Manufactured by Bosch, this sensor is an upgrade to the BMP085/BMP180/BMP183 series, offering enhanced performance and versatility. It operates within a voltage range of 1.71V to 3.6V, making it suitable for 3.3V systems. The module features both I2C and SPI communication protocols, allowing for flexible integration into various microcontroller setups. With an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and full accuracy between 0°C and +65°C, it ensures reliable performance in diverse environmental conditions. The sensor provides barometric pressure measurements with an absolute accuracy of ±1 hPa and temperature readings with an accuracy of ±1.0°C. Due to the relationship between atmospheric pressure and altitude, the BMP280 can also function as an altimeter with an accuracy of ±1 meter. This makes it ideal for applications requiring precise altitude measurements, such as GPS enhancement, vertical velocity indication, and floor detection in indoor navigation systems. The module's small form factor and low peak current consumption of 1.12mA make it suitable for portable and battery-powered projects. Libraries and tutorials are available for popular platforms like Arduino, facilitating easy integration into projects. The package includes the BMP280 sensor module and a header set (unsoldered), allowing for custom installation based on project requirements.
