The BNO085 is a compact 5.2x3.8mm motion sensor module combining a 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer with an Arm Cortex M0 processor running CEVA’s SH-2 firmware. It offers enhanced SPI communication, resolving timeout issues found in its predecessor, the BNO080, while remaining fully backward compatible. Developed by CEVA Hillcrest Laboratories, it efficiently fuses sensor data to provide accurate motion insights. Although similar in hardware to Bosch’s BNO055, the BNO085 features unique firmware under a special Bosch-CEVA agreement. This makes it an advanced, reliable sensor ideal for seamless integration into motion-tracking applications.
