Raspberry Pi TV HAT
Brand: Raspberry Pi
About this item
The Raspberry Pi TV HAT is a compact TV tuner expansion board designed to add digital terrestrial television reception capabilities to compatible Raspberry Pi computers. It features an onboard Sony CXD2880 TV tuner supporting DVB-T and DVB-T2 standards, allowing users to receive and decode digital TV broadcasts through a Raspberry Pi.
The TV HAT connects to the Raspberry Pi through its 40-pin GPIO header and can be used with any compatible 40-pin Raspberry Pi board, including Raspberry Pi Zero and Zero W when headers are installed. A suitable TV aerial is required for receiving broadcasts and is not included as part of the standard setup.
The board supports reception across VHF III, UHF IV, and UHF V frequency ranges. It supports DVB-T2 channel bandwidths of 1.7 MHz, 5 MHz, 6 MHz, 7 MHz, and 8 MHz, while DVB-T supports 5 MHz, 6 MHz, 7 MHz, and 8 MHz bandwidths.
The Raspberry Pi TV HAT can be used to watch digital television on a Raspberry Pi or configured as a TV server to stream received television channels over a network to computers, smartphones, tablets, and other compatible devices. Software such as TVHeadend, along with media platforms including Kodi, OMXPlayer, and LibreELEC, can be used for TV streaming and playback.
The compact HAT design makes it suitable for DIY media centres, home TV servers, network TV streaming, educational electronics projects, hobby projects, and embedded applications. The package includes the TV HAT, a 40-way GPIO header, mechanical spacers, screws, and an aerial adapter
