The Elecrow Crowtail – Dry‑Reed Relay 2.0 is a compact and reliable relay module that uses a sealed reed switch to perform switching operations. Rather than having a traditional electromagnetic relay with exposed contacts or large coils, this module encapsulates a small glass reed contact inside a sealed tube, which is actuated (opened or closed) by magnetizing a coil wrapped around it. The sealed design produces several advantages: protection from dust, moisture, and corrosion, very low contact resistance, fast switching time, and long operational lifetime with minimal degradation. This relay module features a Crowtail interface, meaning it's easily plug‑and‑play with Crowtail base shields, Arduino, Crowduino, and other compatible microcontroller platforms. It is designed for switching resistive loads (e.g. LED strips, small lamps, or simple circuits) up to 60 V DC and up to 1 A of current. Note: it is not suitable for inductive loads (such as motors) because reed switches may be damaged by high back‑EMF or require additional snubbing. Physically, the module measures about 40 mm × 20 mm × 12 mm, and includes a 4‑pin JST‑PH or similar Crowtail connector for easy wiring. It includes an indicator LED to show when the relay is energized. Because of its low drive requirements, fast response, and sealed contact, this relay module is well suited for automation, sensing applications, signal routing, and situations where a clean contact is needed without exposure to the elements.
