About this item
The Elecrow Crowtail Gesture 2.0 is a gesture recognition module built around the PAJ7620U2 sensor chip, offering simple yet versatile hand gesture detection in a compact Crowtail‑compatible package. Using the I2C bus, it recognizes 9 basic gestures (such as swipe, wave, up/down, etc.) and provides proximity detection, enabling hands‑free control over devices. This makes it ideal for robotics, interactive installations, smart home automation, or any project where touchless input enhances usability. Designed for ease of integration, it supports common microcontroller platforms like Arduino UNO, Crowduino, Arduino Mega2560, among others. The module operates with a 5 V supply and has built‑in ambient light immunity (<100,000 Lux), allowing reliable operation even in bright environments. There are two gesture speed modes: Normal Mode (60°/s – 600°/s) and Gaming Mode (60°/s – 1200°/s), enabling the sensor to adapt to slower movements as well as rapid gesture input. Built ruggedly, it functions over a wide temperature range (‑40 °C to +85 °C). Physically, it’s compact (20 mm × 20 mm) and lightweight (~5 g), making it easy to mount in small enclosures or devices. The module comes with a Crowtail cable included. Overall, it’s a strong option for adding intuitive gesture control without a lot of overhead in coding or hardware.
