The DFRobot Fermion BMX160 9-axis Sensor Breakout is a compact, high-precision inertial measurement unit (IMU) designed to provide accurate motion sensing for robotics, drones, wearable devices, and other embedded applications. This sensor integrates a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, and 3-axis magnetometer, delivering full 9-axis motion tracking in a single, easy-to-use breakout board. Powered by Bosch’s BMX160 sensor, the module offers low power consumption, high sensitivity, and excellent stability, making it ideal for applications requiring precise orientation, tilt, vibration, or heading information. It supports both I2C and SPI communication protocols, enabling seamless integration with a wide range of microcontrollers including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32. With onboard sensor fusion algorithms, the BMX160 can provide real-time orientation data by combining readings from the accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer, which simplifies the software requirements on the host controller. This reduces processing overhead and accelerates development time.
