The SparkFun SEN-17731 Qwiic Soil Moisture Sensor is a smart, easy-to-use device for accurately monitoring the moisture content in soil. Designed to work with SparkFun’s Qwiic Connect System, this sensor allows for solderless, plug-and-play integration with microcontrollers, making it ideal for environmental monitoring, gardening automation, and precision agriculture projects. At the heart of the sensor is the capacitive moisture sensing technology, which provides more durability and accuracy compared to traditional resistive sensors. Capacitive sensing eliminates corrosion issues, extending the life of the sensor when used in wet or outdoor environments. In addition to moisture readings, the sensor includes an onboard temperature sensor and voltage monitoring, providing a comprehensive view of environmental conditions. The Qwiic Soil Moisture Sensor outputs data via I2C and is powered at 3.3V, making it compatible with a wide range of Qwiic-enabled development boards. It features configurable I2C addresses, allowing multiple sensors to be used on the same bus. Its slim form factor and durable PCB coating ensure reliable performance in soil applications. Perfect for smart gardening systems, greenhouses, and automated irrigation, the SEN-17731 provides reliable, real-time soil data with minimal setup.Specifications
