The Geekworm KVM-A3 Kit is an open-source KVM-over-IP solution that transforms a Raspberry Pi 4 into a powerful remote management device, allowing users to control computers remotely through a web browser. Designed for IT professionals, data center managers, and hobbyists, this DIY kit offers an affordable alternative to commercial KVM switches. It includes an HDMI-to-CSI-2 capture module, an expansion board with a cooling fan, an adapter board, an RJ45 ATX control interface for remote power management, and a custom metal enclosure for the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B. The kit features a hardware Real-Time Clock (RTC) with battery backup, solid-state relays for GPIO protection, and an OLED display for system status. Using the TC358743 chip, it supports full HD HDMI capture and emulates keyboard, mouse, and mass storage devices for seamless interaction. Powered through the expansion board’s USB Type-C port with a recommended 5.1V, ≥3A power supply, the kit does not include the Raspberry Pi 4, which must be purchased separately. Compatible with PiKVM V3 OS, the KVM-A3 enables browser-based remote server management, making it ideal for managing servers, workstations, or other devices remotely with ease, reliability, and efficiency.
